CLASS PRICES/FEESAt ‘You Can Dance’ our pricing structure is exceptionally competitive considering the wealth of experience our teachers have to offer our students; the excellent facilities we provide at ‘You Can Dance’– a purpose built performing arts studio; and our fees are extremely economical –there are no hidden extras - what you pay each term covers everything...INCLUDING COSTUMING!! Fees are invoiced by the term (on average a 10 week block of classes) based on the NSW school term. Classes do not run in the holidays, Fees are inclusive of GST . Fees can be paid by cash, cheque, money order or direct deposit via the internet. Fees can be paid in a lump sum or by instalment if this suits your budget – we are flexible, however if fees are not paid in full by the end of each term your child will not be able to participate in classes the following term. If fees are not up to date by our end of year concert, children’s costumes will not be sent home and children will not perform. ENROLMENT FEE 2012—An enrolment fee of $25.00 (per student) is charged when you enrol. COSTUME FEE— For students that do just one class, a fee of $15 (charged in term 3 only) per student – will cover costume hire and organisation for our end of year concert—if your child attends more than 1 class—there will be an extra $5 charged per class thereafter. This is all you will pay for costuming for the year. CONCERT REHEARSAL & PRESENTATION DAY FEE—In term 4 only there will be a charge of $10 per student OR $15 per family which will help cover the cost of concert rehearsal and our presentation day. Fees are expected to be paid 14 days after your invoice has been issued. Children will not continue doing classes if fees are outstanding from the term prior. When you enrol you are agreeing to pay for ALL CLASSES that are taken and therefore if you only attend for part of a term classes these classes must be paid for. If you are having financial difficulty, do not hesitate in contacting Jane. We are understanding & as flexible as possible, but please communicate with us... Our school however is not a hobby for us, even though we love what we do—we are a business, with massive overheads and unfortunately can not run classes for FREE! PAYMENT OPTIONS— Internet transfer or cheque is the preferred option for fees payments. However cash is accepted. PLEASE MAKE SURE ANY MONEY THAT COMES INTO THE STUDIO IS IN A LABELLED ENVELOPE WITH YOUR CHILD’S FULL NAME AND WHAT THE PAYMENT IS FOR. ALL DIRECT DEPOSIT PAYMENT MUST INCLUDE EITHER THE INVOICE NUMBER OR YOUR CHILD’S FULL NAME...SO WE KNOW WHO HAS PAID! If paying by cash post your payment in the locked box on the wall in studio 1 (downstairs) - do not give to class teachers. Or set up a direct debit payment with your bank for regular instalments to credit our account—this way you are always on top of your fees!! Uniform stock is available at most times from the studio throughout the year; however there may be a short wait for uniforms to be made and printed. Uniforms need to be paid for at the time of ordering (cash payments only so we can maintain our low prices). All students are to wear full ‘You Can Dance’ uniform by the end of Term 1, 2012. There are a variety of uniform garments available which are so you can mix and match! Ballet students are required to wear ballet stockings with their YCD leotard (ballet skirt is optional) unless it is too hot. GREAT SAVINGS on uniforms at our enrolment day 21st January , 2012 . These special prices will be for enrolment day ONLY, and must be paid for in cash on the day. No excessively baggy clothing is to be worn to classes—to assist teachers in correcting students body alignment. HAIR - All students are to wear their hair tied up off their face for classes. Ballet students – hair must be in a bun. APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR: Jazz/Funk/Hip Hop– Black jazz shoes. Students under the age of 12 are to wear soft leather jazz shoes – preferably split sole to ensure students are using their feet correctly. Those above the age of 12 may wear jazz boots although split sole are fine for over 12yrs too. The softer leather jazz sneakers are a preferred option. Tap - Black flat tap shoes for all Tap classes (without sport or chorus heel) for all students. Ballet/Contemporary – Pink leather ballet shoes for all Ballet and Junior contemporary classes. Intermediate & Senior Contemporary - foot thongs. Tumbling - Require no shoes for class. Cheerleading - Need plain white leather joggers – specific cheerleading shoes can be ordered at the beginning of the year, that are very reasonably priced and suited specifically to cheerleading. These will be ordered direct from America—take advantage of this offer, its well worth it. Correct cheerleading shoes will be required for all students competing this year, while you wait for shoes to arrive from America joggers are fine. All NEW dance shoes can be purchased from ‘Bloch’ in Penrith Plaza, ‘Prima Ballerina’ in High Street Mall Penrith, ‘Dancing Delight’ in Queen Street St Marys or 'Kids Gear' in Mt Druitt. A number of these shops have shoes discounted at the beginning of the year—so do some research and SAVE! No one can participate in classes without shoes, (except contemporary or tumbling students) 2ND HAND SHOES – A large range of pre-loved dance shoes are available for sale at the studio. If you wish to sell shoes, bring to the studio in a sealed large sandwich bag labelled with your child’s name and the price you wish to sell them for. Any money from shoes sold will be deducted from your fees or given to parents directly. If you wish to wait to purchase all of your child’s shoes & uniform needs until you are sure your child is going to stick with their new classes this is no problem, but what is listed above is what all students are expected to have for their classes by the end of term one – if you need further advice please don’t hesitate to ask. ATTENDANCEBy attending classes regularly, students will gain the most out of their tuition, and will quickly see improvements in their abilities. Attendance is crucial leading up to our end of year concert and for those wishing to do examinations. Absences make it extremely difficult for our teachers to choreograph and polish routines - having class members away most certainly affects the quality achieved in performance. Performance quality is paramount and we wish to build a strong reputation in producing fine performers and displaying polished performances. Part of being professional is being committed to your group...DANCE IS A TEAM SPORT!! It DOES make a difference if a student drops out at the last minute...people are counting on you to follow through with a commitment you started by joining the class. If you are going to be away please let your teacher know in advance where possible, and if you don’t plan on doing the end of year concert please communicate this well prior to term 3. By term 4, costumes have been made and positions have been choreographed (etc), in the expectation that your child will be performing, this costs us money and time and ultimately lets class mates and teachers down when it is not communicated that a student is not performing at the last minute. PLEASE BE BOTHERED TO TELL US IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PERFORM. If your child is not performing, they are still very welcome to continue class till the end of the year.
